Hi! This is my page dedicated to step-families (in honor of my own), intact families (ditto), and all of the people who have travelled the rocky road of divorce, remarriage, step-families, and custody fights. These are some of the most challanging (and painful) things you will ever experience. They are also some of the most broadening and rewarding. Unfortunately, as a society, we haven't worked out any reasonable or satisfying way to deal with the enormous pain and difficulty attendent to these experiences. I encourage all of us to speak out, freely and honestly, about what we are experiencing, and our own personal solutions.

About Me
|
I married my husband in 1988. His three children were living with their mother, my husband's ex-wife, at the time. Due to unforseeable circumstances the kids came to live with us. Presto! I had three children, a husband, an angry ex-wife, and a whole lot of trouble on the horizon. The kids have lived with us for the past nine years. We have been to court more often than I can (or care to) count. I have encountered sides of myself I never knew exsisted- some petty and ugly, others transendent and beautiful. My personal experiences lead me to believe that there is an overwhelming need for dialog and change between us all- the biological parents, step parents, children, half brothers and sisters, and all the miscellaneous others affected.

What can we do? In the face of these challanges we fall short. If your're reading this you probably have a story of your own to share. What do you need, what do you want, what works, what doesn't?
